When and what should I protect the cedar with?

July 19, 2022

When: As soon as possible and preferably before installation outside in the elements. The cedar is a clear grade (no knots) kiln dried and pre-sanded. So before the UV rays start to cook the fiber is always the best time and you can get finish into every spot.

What: We recommend starting with a coat of Zinsser cover stain primer (white & gold can). Allow to dry. Then spray or brush on a name brand solid color stain in any color desired.
